As you read, you will see notes or question on the right hand side. You do NOT have to answer the questions (unless otherwise instructed). They are there to guide you: if you can answer them, you probably have a good grasp of what is happening in the text. Notes will be marked as follows:
  • Words in red indicate important people
  • Words in green indicate important places
  • Dialogue is written in blue
  • Words that are bolded are defined on the right
  • Passages that are highlighted are extra important :)
Remember, this story is told en media res, meaning it starts in the middle of the story. Part 1 takes place in the middle, where Odysseus is telling the story of his past. Part 2 starts in the present and then moves forward
